Hire a Suit in Four Simple Steps

Book an Appointment
For a quick and seamless experience, booking an appointment is best, however walk-ins are also welcome. Whilst next day suit hire is possible, 3 days is preferred and wedding party bookings must be at least 2 weeks before the pickup date.

Get Measured In-store
After receiving the email confirmation of your appointment, head to the designated store where we will take the hassle and risk out of accurately gathering your measurements and if there are any alterations required we will do that also.

Pick up Your Suit
Head back in-store to pick up your suit on the agreed time and date where you can try it on for a final check to ensure you look sharp.

Drop Back off In-store
Up to two days after your event, return everything to the store you collected the hire from and don’t worry about cleaning any of the garments as we’ll handle that also.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get my suit delivered today?
No, same day pickup is not possible as we keep our hire stock in a Wellington warehouse. Next day pickup after 3pm can usually be achieved for most NZ destinations but orders must be placed by 12pm. Please also note we cannot guarantee next day pickup as freight delays sometimes happen. For greater certainty, we recommend placing your hire order no less than 3 days before pickup unless it is for a wedding party when 2 weeks is required.
Is there a separate freight charge?
No we do not have additional freight charges unless you have requested next day pickup when a $35 surcharge applies.
Are weekend and holiday delivery dates possible for next day pickups?
Our courier company does not deliver on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays. Next day pickups only apply to week-days. Orders placed on Friday will be available for pickup on the following Monday.
What sizes are available?
The size range is extensive. Suit jackets from 84cm to 156cm chest. Short and Tall lengths also available. Suit trousers from 72cm to 152cm waist. Shirts from XS (Extra Small) to 7 XL (7 Extra Large). Shirts in Short and Tall lengths also available.
Do I have to organise the alterations?
No as we look after the alterations for you. The Rembrandt consultant will take your measurements and all alterations will be completed by our Wellington based tailors.
What are the alteration charges?
There are no charges for alterations and they will be completed by the time you pick up the suit.
Do you offer discounts for students?
Yes, 20% off the normal hire price is available for students hiring for their school ball.
When do I pay for the hire?
Payment in full is required at the time the booking is made.
Are there any fees if I return my suit late?
Yes, late return fees will be incurred where applicable. It is very important we get the suit back within two days of your event to ensure we get it ready for the next customer. The late fee is $40 per day.
What happens if I damage the suit?
If the suit is damaged and we cannot repair it, there will be a replacement cost of: suit jacket $300, suit trouser $150, waistcoat $150, shirt $100, tie $50.
How do I contact Rembrandt?
There are multiple ways: Visit, phone or email one of our nationwide network of Rembrandt stores. Store visits can be booked via the ‘Book An Appointment’ tab on the website hire page. Use the website chat service.
What happens if I need to cancel my hire booking?
You can cancel a hire booking and receive a full refund up to 7 days before the pickup date. Cancellations less than 7 days from pickup date incur a 50% fee.

How and when do I pick up my suit?
Pick up the suit from the Rembrandt store where the hire booking was made. It will be in a suit cover, pressed and altered to your measurements.
How do I return my suit?
Return the suit to one of our nationwide Rembrandt stores within 2 working days of your event.
Can I have the suit delivered to my home address?
This may be possible so just ask when you make the booking and get measured.
Can I buy the hire suit?
No, it is not possible to buy a hire suit as it has been committed to the next person who hired that style/size.
